HR Recruit have another HR Officer Vacancy for a Radstock based client which is being handled by our South West team
Our client in the retail sector, is looking to recruit an experienced HR Officer for their head office in Radstock, Somerset. . The main purpose of the HR Officer role is to provide guidance and administrative support to department managers on a wide range of day-to-day operational HR matters, ensuring these are managed professionally, fairly and consistently, to meet the best interests of the company. This is a stand-alone role, reporting to the Finance Director. The role works alongside Payroll and has shared resource for administration support.
MAIN DUTIES
Work closely with line managers in all three divisions, supporting them in their people management responsibilities by providing guidance on the development and implementation of HR procedures including for example recruitment, inductions, probations, performance reviews, training needs, and absence management.
Support senior managers with disciplinary and grievance investigations, hearings and appeals. Use judgement to escalate complex matters to the Company’s retained external legal advisors.
Maintain paper-based personnel records and files.
Produce HR correspondence including for example offer letters, employment contracts, and changes in terms or status letters. Regularly liaise with the payroll and finance department on pay and benefits matters. Regularly update the Company Employee Handbook, with guidance from external legal advisors.
Prepare HR reports on for example starters, leavers, absence, or length of service for review by senior management.
Organise training and development activity.
Assist with general miscellaneous office duties including for example circulating post.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Proven experience and strong track record of working in a similar role at a similar level.
Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills.
Experienced user of standard IT systems including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word & Excel
Self-motivating, well-organized, practical, flexible, calm and confident under pressure.
Knowledge of payroll particularly Sage 50.
The successful candidate will need to ‘hit the ground running’. In return you will receive a salary of upto 29K pro rata.
