HR Recruit have another HR Advisor Vacancy for a Gloucester based client which is being handled by our South West team.
HR Recruit currently have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and experienced HR Advisor to take up a key role in a HR function of a rapidly expanding organisation based near Cheltenham. Supporting the HR Operations Manager, the HR Advisor will be pivotal in the delivery of an efficient and effective HR support and advisory service to all areas of the company by providing first line contact on all people related issues.
You will assist with a wide range of operational HR matters, including:
- To manage the disciplinary and grievance procedures: advising managers, supporting investigations, jointly chairing hearings and referring complex cases on to the HR Operations Manager
- To manage the sickness absence monitoring – taking proactive steps to manage excessive or long-term absenteeism, including liaison with Occupational Health
- To organise and manage all aspects of our family-friendly processes including maternity, paternity, adoption, parental and unpaid leave, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed
- To draft and update HR policies
- To assist the HR Operations Manager in preparing reports for Board meetings
- To manage data contained in the HR system, ensuring it is accurate and up-to-date
- To respond efficiently to ad-hoc HR related queries on a day-to-day basis.
- To undertake ad-hoc projects as and when required
- To carry out additional tasks to support the business as required
Person Specification
- Demonstrable experience in an ER role, including conducting key processes such as disciplinary hearings
- Experience of providing guidance on a wide range of employment-related issues, ensuring associated risks are highlighted
- Working understanding of UK Employment Law
- User of HRIS
- Resilient and able to work under pressure
- Flexible and able to adapt to changing requirements
- High level of attention to detail
The role is based near Cheltenham but the nature of the role will involve occasional travel to our other branches. The normal working hours are 39 hours a week, Monday to Friday, including an early finish on Fridays. Holiday entitlement is 22 days plus bank holidays. The salary is £27,000- £32,000.
